“I joined the TEG Projects team as a Project Development Manager in 2019 after nearly 10 years at Fonterra Brands - and since then have progressed to lead our Auckland team as Auckland Regional Manager.
What really stood out to me about TEG Projects was the range of project opportunities that the wider team were involved in, and the fact that they were able to move so nimbly from one project to another.

This year marks my 10th anniversary with TEG. Prior to joining TEG, I worked in general engineering and production management roles within the food and beverage industry. That work included a small element of project management.
Experienced leaders in FMCG will attest to the challenge of balancing workloads between running the business and improving the business—the former often taking priority and, more often than not, going unrecognised. So, ten years ago, I made the decision to transition into full-time project management—one of the best career choices I’ve made.
I learned about TEG Projects Ltd through my network and was drawn to the way their project managers integrate with client organisations, often building lasting relationships while working on multiple projects over several years.
As a TEG Project Manager, I continue to work within large organisations and feel like part of their team. At the same time, the delineation provided by the contracting model enables me to focus on what I enjoy most—delivering meaningful improvement projects—while remaining energised through exposure to different businesses. It’s almost like changing jobs every few years, but with the stability of staying with the same parent company. Not everyone can do that, especially later in their careers, and I believe this is one of the greatest benefits of our employment model.
For anyone with a background similar to mine who is considering a move into full-time project management—especially through the TEG model—my advice is: don’t hesitate. Give it a go. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of industries from our client list and develop a breadth of skills few others have the opportunity to acquire.
