Chris Murphy

Senior Project Manager

Chris joins TEG Projects as a Senior Project Manager, bringing over 20 years of engineering and project delivery experience across the food and dairy manufacturing sector. He delivers projects of varying scope from feasibility and concept design through to commissioning and handover, working closely with clients, contractors, and site teams to ensure safe, fit-for-purpose outcomes aligned with operational requirements.

Before TEG, Chris spent eight years as Principal Engineer, leading end-to-end project engineering and management across a wide range of dairy and food industry clients and sites. Prior to that, he held three progressively senior roles at Fonterra over 12 years, in the Regional and Major Capital Projects teams, delivering capital works ranging from $100K to $10M across the Waitoa, Morrinsville, and Canpac manufacturing sites, covering milk powder, butter, blended powder, can manufacturing, packaging, and utility services.

His earlier career includes production engineering management and manufacturing engineering roles in the cable and electronics manufacturing sectors.

Outside of work Chris enjoys running a lifestyle block with his wife, and can be found most weekends completing home based projects or fixing things.

Qualifications include:

  • Master of Engineering (First Class Honours)
  • Chartered (Professional) Mechanical Engineer
  • National Diploma in Project Management Level 5
  • National General Certificate on Occupational Safety and Health

Specialist fields of activity are:

  • Capital project delivery in dairy and food manufacturing
  • Multidisciplinary team coordination (mechanical, process, civil, electrical, automation)
  • Contract generation /  negotiation, procurement, and construction management
  • Design reviews, HAZOP facilitation, and operational support
  • Commissioning leadership and operational handover
  • Health & Safety management systems
