2023 Year In Review

2023 Year In Review
December 18, 2023

As we reach the end of the year it’s the perfect time to look back on highlights from 2023.

It’s been a busy year as we have welcomed new staff, pressed into some excellent staff training, as well as community initiatives, and of course many work projects both for long term clients, as well as new.

Welcoming New Team Members

TEG Projects NZ

Two new staff members joined us in the South Island. Matt Foggo, who has a background in electrical engineering and project management, is currently working with Fonterra on a Major Decarbonisation Capital Project as Interface Lead.

Wesley Kessack’s previous roles have covered implementing solutions to production lines, as well as being a Health and Safety role model. He has joined our South Island team and is currently undertaking a major study for Silver Fern Farms and a capex preparation for CHEP.

Smruthi Vishwanath joined us at the beginning of the year as a Project Manager and has become a valued member of our Auckland team.

TEG Projects Pty AU

Fernando Siqueira recently joined our Brisbane team as a Safety Engineer and has been making excellent strides in his new role. It’s always wonderful to see our team grow in numbers and expertise, and we look forward to seeing the same growth in 2024.

Staff Development Team Day

This year we were able to bring everyone together from TEG Projects and TEG Risk for a Staff Development team Day. As a team that often works individually, and often seconded to roles on client sites, getting everyone together was a real highlight and it is something we hope to continue in future years.

Leadership Team Workshops

This year we were able to have four face-to-face workshops as a Leadership Team to develop five different themes, a business strategy and a prioritised masterplan of actions. The themes are Working Together, Employer of Choice, Working Better, Major Clients and Leadership Team.

Community

This year TEG Projects supported two very worthy charities linked to activities of our staff.

Sarah Starkey was sponsored in the Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge to support the Leukemia and Blood Cancer charity.

Altan Gurevin visited his homeland of Turkey not long after the terrible earthquakes and we asked Altan to identify a Turkish charity to which TEG could provide assistance.

Projects In 2023

This year TEG Risk and TEG Projects were awarded safety assessment and upgrade work across 22 sites in Australia and New Zealand for CHEP. The assignment involves the TEG Risk team undertaking summary machine risk assessment and pedestrian segregation studies and TEG Projects managing the capital works. This has been a very effective model for multi-site operations requiring safety upgrades and one we anticipate doing more of in 2024. If this is something your multi-site operation could benefit from, do reach out.

Continuing Relationships

TEG’s involvement in the Fonterra Wastewater Community (WWC) is on-going with Ian Cranefield and Jamie Wilson being involved in the Hautapu Project. Bevan Robertson contributed well to the Fonterra WWC Portfolio Leads Group and Ross Norgrove continued his role on the Board of the Fonterra WWC.

PepsiCo

PepsiCo had another big year with Brian Feldtman providing Construction Management on an automated warehouse development.

Silver Fern Farms

Sarah Starkey has been working with Silver Fern Farms on a Potable Pipe bridge project to set up some great infrastructure for the site.

Sustainability

In 2023 TEG Projects was heavily involved in sustainability projects for our clients. Seven of our staff have been involved in important decarbonisation, water quality and energy saving projects.

TEG Projects’ is involved in the Waste Water Community for Fonterra. We are one of the nine companies selected to deliver $800m of capital projects relating to improving Fonterra’s environmental footprint.

Project Manager Altan Gurevin has done an excellent job in delivering Silver Fern Farms high profile Engine Room project. It is a very complex and challenging project that has significant energy savings for the site.

End of Year Functions

In 2023 we gathered regionally to celebrate the end of year with TEG Risk and TEG Projects teams being combined. It was great to be able to enjoy each others company and to celebrate the achievements of the year.

TEG Brisbane- Bridge Climb and Dinner

TEG Auckland – Bowls And Dinner

TEG Waikato/ BOP  – Hobbiton And Dinner

TEG Christchurch – Fishing And Dinner

We wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to our clients for another wonderful year in business. Thank you for the opportunity to work alongside you. We’re excited about 2024’s upcoming projects and are looking forward to delivering the best to ensure their success with you.
